TikTok

Known for its short-form video content, TikTok is one of the new kids to the social media and video platform block. It typically targets younger, predominately female audiences and is designed for national marketing plans. Caveat: The audience for this platform is fairly limited and may require other formats to extend that reach.

YouTube

YouTube is perhaps the most widely known and used video hosting service, allowing you to setup subscriptions for your channels and to build your audience with recommended content from your video base. There are other video platform providers, such as Vimeo, Twitch, TED, Vevo and more, to consider. Caveat: Content creation and editing can be time-consuming and it takes more time than some other options to build a following.

Radio

According to Forbes.com, "The reach of AM/FM is strong across all adult age groups." Plus, competitive advertising regulations make it more affordable for local companies to market to a larger audience on more popular channels. Caveat: This tends to be very ad specific, whereas a podcast or video allows you to provide content and promotions all in one place.

Podcasts

Podcast-hosting platforms and streaming services are as plentiful and varied as the pricing structures for using them. If you have a passion for organizing and plenty to say about it, podcasting might be for you. Caveat: You need to be comfortable with your voice, content planning and speaking skills.

Virtual Assistant

Digital home assistants have grown in popularity but are still new to the digital marketing scene. They received an honorary mention here as the technology is something to keep an eye on moving forward. Caveat: This relatively new service is currently dominated by big companies like Google and Amazon and doesn't offer much in the way of effective marketing at this time.
